Some Hints and Explanations:
Hint: When viewing a picture, find something else in the picture that
is not the subject of the picture. There lies the real India (if possible).
Explanations:
Most of the pictures
are of people. They were very open to having their pictures taken and were so friendly that we were invited into many homes.
After leaving Mumbai (Bombay) we headed into the country. Besides visiting and staying at 2 somewhat remote ashrams, we also
visited Amrit Desai's boyhood home. We had as much fun as he did there. They were not expecting us and all photos are extemporaneous.
Many of the these ancient villages were unaccustomed to visitors (not to mention Westerners) and a few were less unaccustomed.
Remember: Blame the photographer. Not the photograph. And remember to look for the picture within the picture.
